Values &
Sustainability
We have always believed that the most beautiful things are made with intention — for the people who wear them, for the hands that craft them, and for the world they come from.
A family built on
craft, not compromise
AMBER999 was founded in Klaipėda, Lithuania in 1999. We work with a small, dedicated team of artisans who have spent their lives working with Baltic amber — no shortcuts, no outsourcing, no mass production.
Every piece we make is a considered decision. The amber we select, the metal we pair it with, the way we package it.
The values that shape
everything we make
Authenticity over trend
We don’t design to follow seasons. Every AMBER999 piece is designed to be worn for years — to age with you, to earn meaning over time.
Human craft, not automation
Our pieces are made by hand by a small team in Lithuania. We know the people who make what we sell. That matters to us — and we believe it matters to the person who wears it.
Honesty in materials
We use certified Baltic amber — not simulants, not resin, not pressed amber blends. Our silver is 925 sterling. Our gold plating is 14k. We don’t cut corners on materials.
Long life over fast fashion
The most sustainable piece of jewellery is one you wear every day for thirty years. We design for durability, not disposability — pieces that earn a permanent place in how someone dresses.
Fair relationships
We pay our craftspeople fairly. We work with suppliers we know and trust. The price of an AMBER999 piece reflects what it actually costs to make something properly.
Fearless individuality
Amber is bold, warm, tactile, ancient and unmistakable. We make jewellery for people who wear what they mean — who don’t need permission to be noticed.
“We make things that last, from materials that are honest, by people who are paid fairly — and we will never compromise any of those three things to grow faster or cost less.”Amber999 · Klaipėda, Lithuania
Our sustainability
commitments
Natural materials
Baltic amber is a natural resin requiring no chemical extraction and no industrial processing. It is gathered from the Baltic coast using traditional methods unchanged for centuries.
Small-batch production
We don’t overproduce. Every collection is made in small quantities. This means less waste, less unsold inventory, and more attention paid to each piece.
Responsible packaging
Our signature black box uses FSC-certified materials and our ribbon is reusable. We use minimal plastic and are working to eliminate single-use plastic entirely by August 2027.
Local supply chain
Our amber is sourced from the Lithuanian and Baltic coast. Our craftspeople work in our Klaipėda atelier. Our metal components come from European suppliers with traceable sourcing.
Designed to last
We offer repair and care services for AMBER999 pieces. If a clasp breaks or a bead chips, we would rather fix it than have you replace it. Sustainability starts with longevity.
Community & craft heritage
Lithuania has one of the world’s oldest relationships with amber. By building our business here, we contribute to keeping that craft tradition alive — economically and culturally.
Handcrafted amber —
by people who know it
Every AMBER999 piece is made by hand in our atelier in Klaipėda — a city with one of the world’s oldest relationships with amber. Our craftspeople have spent their careers working with this material. They know how it moves, how it ages, how it responds to light.
No machines do what our artisans do. Each bead is selected by eye, each clasp fitted by hand, each piece strung and checked before it leaves us. The time this takes is exactly the point.
When you hold an AMBER999 piece, you are holding something a person made — specifically, carefully, with everything they know about amber.
Our standards
Handcrafted in Lithuania
Every piece shaped, strung and finished by hand in our Klaipėda atelier. Never outsourced, never machine-assembled.
925 Sterling Silver
All silver components are 925 sterling — hallmarked and verified. Not silver-tone, not silver-plated base metal.
14k Gold Plating
Our gold-plated pieces use genuine 14k gold over sterling silver — thick plating for durability, not a cosmetic finish.
Certified Baltic Amber
Every stone is certified of natural Baltic origin. No simulants, no treated stones, no pressed amber blends.
Every piece carries
these values with it.
