AMBER TRIP 2025 IN LITHUANIA – INTERNATIONAL JEWELRY EXHIBITION
Lithuania has long been renowned for its amber, considered a unique treasure of nature and culture. Although an increasing number of world-class amber designers are embracing modern and innovative methods, a stereotype still persists in Lithuania: amber is seen as jewelry only for the older generation.
At the “Amber Trip” exhibition held at the Litexpo Exhibition Center, it was clear that most participants continued to showcase traditional designs – familiar amber bead necklaces and classic bracelets. However, there were also unconventional approaches on display, demonstrating how amber can become an essential part of contemporary art, technology, and design.
Some exhibitors stood out not only for their unique jewelry designs but also for an unexpected twist: they brought party energy to the exhibition hall with a DJ performance and champagne.
"I’ve never seen anything like this! It’s a true leap into modernity and a new level for amber jewelry," said one foreign guest – a designer from Germany.
However, not all feedback was positive...
"That black amber can’t be real. Amber should be yellow or brown," grumbled one visitor, expressing skepticism and accusing modern entrepreneurs of dishonesty.
Nevertheless, the event was widely described as a true amber revolution that surprised even the most experienced experts in the field. Foreign guests were clearly impressed and praised the craftsmanship of Lithuanian amber masters.
Special attention was given to a collection of roasted amber and the bold, unexpected use of combinations with black oak, pearls, and diamonds.
Among the guests were well-known Lithuanian public figures, including singer Marijonas Mikutavičius, painter Linas Cicėnas, and photographer-artist Rimantas Dichavičius, along with other prominent names from the world of art and culture.
This exhibition not only captivated visitors with its innovative approach but also proved that Lithuanian amber design has the potential to lead on the global stage.
